Merging NFTs

Merging NFTs on NFR Islands requires a strategic approach, where players must analyze the images and descriptions of their NFTs to deduce which two to merge. The goal is to create a new and more valuable asset to progress towards The Genesis Relics.

To merge NFTs, players need to pay a small amount of gas and a $MERGE token per attempt. If the merge is unsuccessful, nothing is burnt and players can try again. However, if the merge is successful, some of the reactant NFTs used in the merge may be burnt, increasing the rarity and value of the resulting NFT.

The images and descriptions of NFTs can often provide valuable clues for players to determine which two NFTs to merge. Some descriptions may outright state the required components for a merge, while others may include subtle hints or references that can help players identify the correct combination. Similarly, images may include visual cues that point towards certain NFTs or themes. It's important for players to carefully examine and analyze their NFTs' images and descriptions in order to make informed decisions about which ones to merge.

Examples that aren't in the game:

  • Suppose a player owns an NFT of a coconut tree that appears to have a large cut in its trunk, as well as an NFT of a machete. When these two NFTs are merged, a new NFT called "Coconut" is created. The original coconut tree NFT is burnt but the machete is returned to you.

  • This "Coconut" NFT can then be merged with the "Machete" NFT to produce a new NFT called "Coconut Juice".

  • An abandoned pirate ship NFT is shown to be missing its ship wheel and the missing ship wheel could be merged to create a "Treasure Map" NFT

  • The "Treasure Map" could be combined with a "Pirate" NFT to yield "Captain's Booty"
